The BA degree can prepare you for a career working in early childhood settings but does not prepare you for state certification, which is required to teach in public school settings. However, the BS degree includes student teaching resulting in Pennsylvania State Certification, as approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
The Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education program can prepare you to work at Head Start, a childcare center or even Keystone Stars. The BA path does not have a student teaching component, so no certification is included, yet the the skills and knowledge acquired provide career flexibility within the early childhood education field.
The Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education is an online degree completion program with ample room for transfer credits. The BS path provides Pennsylvania certification in PreK-4 as approved by the PA Department of Education (PDE)
