Saint Francis University’s Canine Learning and Behavior
class is a semester-long Psychology course.
The class involves analyzing events and consequences that contribute to
specific behaviors. Selected dogs from
the Central PA Humane Society provide a “hands-on” tool for students to apply
concepts of conditioning, reinforcement and behavioral analysis. Started in
2015, eight dogs have successfully completed the class, received a diploma and
SFU graduate collar tag. All eight have
been adopted and are working toward their American Kennel Club Canine Good
