CyberSecurity is the protection of computers, networks, programs
and data from an attack or unauthorized access.
With more data being stored, managed, and handled online than ever before, companies, governments, and individuals are increasingly vulnerable to hackers and cyber-related threats. Our program approaches CyberSecurity from a business perspective, teaching how companies can be equipped to protect their assets.

The CyberSecurity major at Saint Francis educates students in the fundamental concepts of Information Security with a particular emphasis on CyberSecurity. A Bachelor’s degree in CyberSecurity prepares students to prevent, detect and battle digital crime in

In teaching students to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and information systems that support modern organizations and drive our society, students receive a comprehensive education that focuses on both the fundamentals of information systems as well as advanced topics in areas such as cybersecurity, homeland security, risk management, security governance, digital forensics, criminal investigation, business continuity planning, security architecture, physical security and critical infrastructure protection.

CyberSecurity is a specialization for students that want a career in protecting computer networks from attacks. In comparison, Computer Science is more technical and broader in nature, encompassing everything involving computers and computing.
CyberSecurity entails defending computer operating systems and networks from cyber attacks. Professionals in this area need to be able to monitor and analyze networks to keep them safe against potential attacks.
Courses are taught by industry professionals that specialize in either cyber crime or digital forensics, teaching current best practices in the workplace. Our faculty have experience in handling complex online investigations, penetration testing, ethical hacking, and the dark web.
Computer Science involves everything from the design and development of software from operating systems and mobile apps to interactive technology. Computer Science majors should understand the scientific method, build skills in math and develop an aptitude for critical thinking and problem-solving.
The Computer Science program stresses problem-solving and programming, two fundamental skills for any computer scientist. Students work on realistic projects that increase software development skills and raise awareness of the importance of application reliability.
