Law Day is a national day set aside to celebrate the rule of law in the United States. It underscores how law and the legal process contribute to the freedoms of all Americans, and it provides an opportunity to recognize the rule of courts in this democracy and the importance of jury service in maintaining the integrity of the courts.
Annual Red Mass
Saint Francis University will celebrate Law Day on Friday, April 26 with its annual Red Mass for all faiths. The public is invited to attend the Mass, which will be celebrated by Bishop Mark Bartchak, J.C.D., bishop of the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. The mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Chapel on campus.
Following the mass, the University is hosting a luncheon for area judges, lawyers and public officials at the JFK Student Center. A keynote address will be given by Atty. Paul Michael Pohl of Jones Day. To register for lunch or find out more information contact Vickie Soyka at (814) 472-3001 or
