Rural Education Alliance for Leadership (REAL) Institute will offer two Pennsylvania Inspired Leadership (PIL) approved programs beginning this fall.
Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania serves as a convenient location for school districts in the IU8 region. These courses are designed in a hybrid learning module that is flexible for the demands of the school district administrator.
About the Courses
Digital Technology Leadership in Schools
In this 44 hour program, leaders will follow a framework to build their understanding of the importance of strategic vision and its relationship to digital leadership.
Leadership Frameworks for Transforming Education
This 40 hour program is designed to guide school leaders through the five essential domains of leading: authentic, visionary, relational, quality and service leaders.
Each course runs from August 15th through December 17th. The course cost is $500 per participant. However, with a REAL Institute Membership, participants will receive a $50 discount.

The Rural Education Alliance for Leadership (REAL) Institute is a partnership with Saint Francis University, Pennsylvania Leadership Development Corporation (PLDC) and Intermediate Unit 08. The Institute is designed to help local communities and educational agencies come together in efforts to support the needs of rural schools. Through discussions, forums, and guest speakers, members of the Institute gain working knowledge about the issues rural communities are facing and the resources necessary to take action.
