Students may enter the MPAS Program directly from high school; without prior college work or medical experience. This option includes three years of pre-PA coursework including prerequisite and general education courses and two years of the PA-only curriculum. Applicants must meet general University admission requirements as published in the University catalog. The priority date for applications is November 15th for following the Fall term.
A competitive evaluation process is used, with admission based on factors such as: SAT scores, high school GPA and a Core (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) GPA. Minimum academic requirements include an old SAT composite above 1150 (Critical Reading and Math SAT score administered prior to March 2016) or above a 1220 New SAT, a high school GPA of 3.7 or better and a 3.2 Core GPA or better. Items in the applicant's file that demonstrate maturity, academic honesty, commitment to a career in health care and concern for others would also strengthen the case for admission.
Applicants who wish to enter the masters program through this path follow the procedures for undergraduate admissions.
Applicants must also be able to meet the Department of Physician Assistant Sciences student technical standards.
