In our petroleum and natural gas engineering program, you will have plenty of opportunities in the classroom and beyond. Below are just a few of the opportunities waiting for you as a future PNGE student:
Real world experience is the hallmark of a Saint Francis University engineering education. Our students put their education into action by conducting class projects and research in small groups working closely with faculty mentors on activities that have real impact. Unlike most existing undergraduate programs in petroleum engineering, which must typically use hypothetical design projects, the PNGE program at Saint Francis incorporates real industry data, methods and software in both class and out of class experimental and research projects. Students work hands-on with industry standard equipment and software throughout the four-year program. Our smaller class sizes enhance our ability to provide these real experiences at multiple points in the curriculum. Typically students present their research at regional, national, and international conferences, and have the opportunity to be lead author on their publications.
The student chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) at Saint Francis University was officially established in February 2016.
Dr. Alireza Shahkarami acts as the faculty advisor for the chapter, and the following students are the officers:
